As Simone Giertz continues to recover from brain surgery she underwent to remove a non-malignant tumor, she's updating fans on her progress as honestly as possible.
Since the "shitty robots" YouTuber's procedure in May, she's shared several photos of her "super villain scar," but on Friday, the 27-year-old got real about her progress.
In an emotional post, Giertz shared a serious photograph of herself, apologizing to fans for her recent silence.
"Sorry for the silence. I'm okay. Just not as okay as I'd like to be yet," she wrote.

Giertz has managed to keep her classic sense of humor going strong since surgery by comparing her recovering self to Gollum, wearing reassuring t-shirts, and spreading positivity whenever possible, so fans were quick to pile on the love and support after seeing the YouTuber use a more serious tone.
Many encouraged her to take all the recovery time she needs and thanked her for taking them along on the extremely personal journey.
