Twitter is down, and the issue appears to be global.
UPDATE: Jul. 14, 2022, 3:08 p.m. EDT Twitter is back and working normally for us. There has been no official word from Twitter about the outage yet.
The social media site hasn't been loading for any of us at Mashable, and Downdetector indicates a lot of users have issues accessing it as well.
(Editor's note: Downdetector is owned by Mashable's parent company, Ziff Davis).
I've been able to get the Twitter homepage to load, but it was impossible to load any tweets or tweet anything.
Other popular services such as Gmail, Facebook, and Snapchat, appear to be working normally.
The outage comes amidst an exhausting back and forth between rich guy Elon Musk his bid to buy Twitter, which he'd now like to take back but Twitter doesn't let him. With Twitter down, at least we'll be spared the drama for a few moments.
We'll update this article when we find out more about the causes of the outage.
